Important Notice Concerning Producer Compensation

CIGNA Group Insurance companies offer programs under which agents and brokers can qualify for additional compensation, based on meeting new sales and persistency goals, for providing our insurance companies with market intelligence, product and service feedback, and other services that enable us to conduct our business more effectively.

This compensation, where paid, is based on premiums or commissions paid with respect to all policies written by a producer. We allocate and report a dollar amount to each such policy, and include this on annual policy information reports (ERISA Form 5500 Schedule A information). While this compensation has been, for this purpose, allocated to specific policies, it is funded from our general overhead for all policies, regardless of whether a broker participates in these agreements.

More specific information regarding the producer compensation payable to a particular producer are provided in our insurance company's proposals, and at the time that new policies are implemented or existing policies are renewed.

Producers may also be invited to participate, at the insurance company's expense, in producer events sponsored by our insurance companies during which information concerning our products and services was exchanged.
